Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026

GRAC Annual General Meeting Announcement (AGM) – Join Us!

2 November 2026

The Board of Directors of the Gulf Region Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (GRAC) invites all members to attend the Corporation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

This is an important opportunity for the Lardil, Yangkaal, Gangalidda, and Kaiadilt peoples to come together, hear updates on the Corporation’s activities (including the WILSSED Rangers), and have their say on upcoming decisions.

Meeting Details

  • Date: Wednesday, 11 November 2026
  • Time: 10:00am (for a 10:30am commencement)
  • Venue: MSC Training Room, Gununa

What’s on the Agenda?

Alongside the standard AGM business — attendance and respects, confirmation of last year’s minutes, the Chairperson’s Report, Financial Reports, and appointment of an auditor — members will also consider:

  • An update on GRAC’s activities, including the WILSSED Rangers program
  • A Proposed Special Resolution to amend the Rule Book so GRAC can apply to become a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with the Australian Tax Office — allowing the Corporation to receive tax-deductible gifts and donations through a new Wellesley Islands Gift Fund
  • Appointment of a Lardil Director to fill a current vacancy on the Board

Voting on the Special Resolution

For the Rule Book changes to pass, at least 75% of eligible votes cast at the meeting must be in favour. Only members with a Primary Affiliation to the Lardil, Yangkaal, Gangalidda or Kaiadilt Peoples are entitled to vote on this resolution.

Filling the Lardil Director Vacancy

Nominations for the Lardil Director position will be called from the floor on the day. Nominees must be present, give their consent, and hold a Director Identification Number (DIN). Only members with a Primary Affiliation to the Lardil Community Group may vote on this appointment — so members in this group are encouraged to attend.

Can’t Attend in Person?

Members unable to attend may appoint a proxy — but only to another member sharing the same Primary or Secondary Affiliation. A proxy form is included in the full notice.

Need a Director ID?

Members wishing to nominate for the Board will need a Director Identification Number. Details on how to apply are set out in the full notice.

Why Your Participation Matters

The strength of our Corporation comes from the active and informed participation of its members. Your attendance and vote help ensure decisions reflect the priorities of our Traditional Owner groups.
