Notice of Lardil, Yangkaal, Gangalidda and Kaiadilt Peoples Community Meeting
10 March 2026
The Gulf Regional Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (GRAC) invites native title holders to attend upcoming information sessions and an authorisation meeting regarding a proposed variation to the Lardil Peoples v State of Queensland [2004] FCA 298 (Wellesley Islands Sea Determination).
The proposed variation would allow native title holders to take resources for any purpose within the determination area. Currently, native title holders may only take resources for personal, domestic, or non-commercial use.
Information Sessions
GRAC will hold three information sessions in Cairns (Gimuy), Moungibi (Burketown), and Mornington Island (Gununa) to maximise attendance of native title holders.
These sessions are not decision-making meetings but provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the proposal, ask questions, and receive further information.
